Plenary Activity: Exploring Chinese, Japanese, and Filipino Cultures Grade 1 & 2 Students

Reflecting Hope Christian High School’s aim to inspire a thoughtful and compassionate learning community, our Grade 1 and 2 students held a plenary activity last October 16, 2024. Centered on exploring Chinese, Japanese, and Filipino cultures. This enriching event, part of their Unit of Inquiry (UOI), aimed to nurture their appreciation of cultural diversity while reflecting the school’s commitment to holistic growth and development.

The students immersed themselves in interactive activities, learning basic greetings in Chinese and Japanese, and discovering traditional Filipino “Pambansang Sagisag”. Cultural symbols like Chinese lanterns, Japanese origami, and Filipino weavings, were also introduced fostering a spirit of creativity and excellence.

The event concluded with a cultural showcase featuring traditional songs and dances from the three countries. This event not only highlighted the importance of acknowledging and respecting diverse cultures but also demonstrated Christ-like values of love, understanding, and unity.

Furthermore. This experience helped the students’ understanding of different cultures and encouraged them to reflect on the importance of respect and unity in a diverse world.
